The new Fiat Freemont MPV

The Fiat Freemont Another car to debut at the next Geneva Motor Show is the new Fiat Freemont MPV.

The Freemont is Fiat’s first car developed in cooperation with the Chrysler Group. The car will be manufactured in the Mexican plant of Toluca, and 500 units specially intended for US market.

The Freemont is described by Fiat as a “factotum car”, meaning it can do all types of work. The car was designed to be clever, comfortable, and spacious, so that it can be used for various needs, such as going to the office, taking children to school, having vacation at the weekend, or whatever.

The car’s interior is equipped with new passenger compartment featuring an all-new infotainment system and instrument panel. And the dashboard is wrapped around with chrome elements.

The car has front wheel drive, and powered by turbo diesel power units (170 HP 2.0 or 140 HP MultiJet) paired with manual gearbox. Later on, the 4×4 versions will also be available, with 276 HP 3.6 petrol V6 and 170 HP 2.0 MultiJet engines.

The powerful 3.6 liter unit is developed by the Chrysler Group. But, the other power units are still developed by Fiat.

The new Fiat Freemont MPV is scheduled to be available in the market on June, 2011.
