Detroit Auto Show has always been the platform of introducing new technology, new design, and new concept in the automotive industry. After being hit with economic crisis last year, it’s hope that this year will bring more hope and optimism to automotive industry. It’s also hoped that with the increasing and better economy, many people will again put their hope and faith into the new automotive products. In 2011, the car sales were up about 11.6 million cars, so many of these automotive manufacturers hope to increase the sales up to about 13 million cars this year.

Chevy Volt

They’re quite optimistic about the bright future of car sales since now the products are ranging and varying. With the increasing growth of technology, there’re more electric cars and hybrid cars available, such as Chevy Volt, Nissan Leaf, or Hyundai Sonata. There’re also smaller, compact cars suitable for crowded street, such as Minis, or light-weight trucks, SUVs, or pickup trucks, like the Compass from Jeep or Escape from Ford.

Even European luxurious brands, such as Audi, BMW, and Mercedes, hope to see better prospects in the 2011 event with their diesel engine products. Italian manufacturer, Fiat, put its faith in the light and frugal cars to be able to attract American consumers.
