There has been news flying around about the 2012 Ford Expedition changes, especially around the engine. The body may still be the same, but some other areas will be changed and updated. The new Expedition model will be available in three different styles of XLT, Base, and Eddie Bauer.

The basic model may still be using V8 engine of 4.8 liter capacity, but the upper model will be using V8 engine of 5.4 liter that offer more power. The second and third rows can be fold flat just in case the driver needs to use the rear side for cargo.

    Honda Fit recall 2011 – Issue

    When there’s system failure happening to the car’s engine, it’s important to consider the issue right away and provide solution in order to prevent any mishap or damage, or even death. The Japanese manufacturer, Honda, also faces the recalling issue by doing Honda Fit recall. The recalling is done in America and also worldwide, which consists about 700,000 products in total. It’s done to prevent further damage due to car’s failure that will lead to car stall and engine damage.

    In the news release, the manufacturer stated that there’s a slight problem about the motion springs within the valve train of the engine that can bend or break if used for long period of time. It will cause abnormal engine sound and may lead to stalling, if no further solution is provided. The problem is caused by the lack of oil or lubricants that make the retainer of the motion spring make contact with the rocker arm. When the car stalled, the engine may not start anymore.

    This is the third time Honda has recalled its Honda Fit product. The first recalling was due to faulty system in the headlights. The second one was related to fire threat concerning power windows feature. For this Honda Fit recall 2011, Honda will provide free valve train

    There’re several different types of hybrid cars, such as:

    • Full hybrid, where gas engine and the electric power can work together or work on their own individually.

     

    • Mild hybrid, where the electric power will provide more power to the gas engine when it’s needed. When the car doesn’t move or stay still, the engine will automatically turn off the engine so it won’t consume fuel.

     

    • Series hybrid, where the main operation lies on the electric power and the gas engine provides back up power. That’s why most cars with this type is more expensive because it has bigger battery.

     

    • Parallel hybrid, where both the gas engine and electric power work together to provide power. The gas will provide fuel for the engine and the generator charge the battery.
