Alfa Romeo’s 4C, it’s not merely a car concept

Alfa Romeo's 4C, it's not merely a car conceptAlfa Romeo exhibits its 4C Concept in this week’s Geneva auto show.

The 4C Concept is truly a significant rival for being a star attraction in the show. It is a rear-wheel drive coupe, available with two-seats.

Described by Alfa Romeo as a compact “super-car”, the 4C Concept is characterized by the typical values of Alfa: technical wizardry, performance, and Italian style.

The body is composed from materials which include aluminum and carbon fiber. Those are the same materials as used in that of the 8C Competizione super-car.

And due to smart distribution of weight, the 4C Concept is also described as a “real car for driver”. The real axle has 60% of weight share, while the front axle has 40%. The 4C’s total weight is below 850 kg.

The 4C Concept is powered by 1750 turbo petrol engine, paired with Alfa’s dry clutch transmission (TCT) and direct injection. The combination enables the 4C to accelerate from zero to 62 mph in below 5 seconds, and the top speed reaches more than 155mph.

The best news is: Alfa Romeo states that the 4C is not merely a car concept, but it will be made available in the market in 2012.
