Alfa Romeo MiTo with TCT automatic transmission

Alfa Romeo MiTo with TCT automatic transmissionThe MiTo is Alfa Romeo’s first model featured by the new TCT automatic transmission with dual clutch.

Alfa Romeo MiTo is powered by 1.4 TB MultiAir 135 bhp petrol engine, paired with a Start&Stop system. This enables the MiTo to achieve 38.7 mpg over an urban cycle, CO2 emissions of 128 g/km, and zero to 62 mph acceleration of 8.2 seconds.

Meanwhile, the same engine combined with a manual gearbox can deliver only 38.2 mpg, CO2 emissions of 129 g/km, and 8.4 seconds to accelerate from zero to 62 mph.

The new TCT automatic transmission is a high technology feature that can control the delivery of torque and modify the gearshift speed, for example on the roads with low grip. It can be operated manually or automatically. And it works effectively to reduce consumption of fuel.

The new TCT automatic transmission is designed by Fiat Powertrain Technologies. Conceptually, it parallels two gearboxes in which each has its own clutch. This makes the subsequent gear to select and engage although the previous one is still in engagement.

The Alfa Romeo MiTo 1.4 TB MultiAir featuring the new TCT automatic transmission is offered in the trim levels of Veloce and Lusso. The OTR prices begun at £16,745.
