Subaru Advanced Tourer Concept
It seems that Japanese automaker, Subaru started to move to higher car market, which is sport wagon. At the Tokyo Auto Show, the Japanese manufacturer is bringing the new generation of the midsize Legacy named Subaru Advanced Tourer Concept. The concept shows a restyled signature grille of Subaru and new angled headlamps that create an aggressive front end. The side profile of the body claims a muscular, high beltline and wheel arches that are more accented. For the inside, Subaru gives wood and polished aluminum surface with trim leather and a sunroof. A large screen is fitted into the steering wheel; it has access to the internet space and able to display GPS satellite-navigation systems.
Under its hood, Subaru puts their well-known boxer four-cylinder 1.6 liter turbocharged engine combined with single motor hybrid system powered by lithium-ion batteries. This combination, according to Subaru, provides a better fuel economy, cleaner environment and more powerful powertrain. Subaru also claimed that they have been successfully improved fuel economy while keeping the same power output as the current engine; and that would be applied for this Subaru Advanced Tourer Concept. A new version all-wheel drive system improved by Subaru’s engineers will be installed in this car and will able to transfer symmetric power to all-four wheels.
At the Tokyo Auto Show, Subaru not only brings Advanced Tourer Concept but also introducing the new Impreza G4 and a new 2.0 liter rear-wheel drive BRZ model. At the same occasion, Subaru also revealed S206 STI-tuned, based on the four-door WRX STI. The decision to introduce new items makes Subaru would become a serious contender in sports wagon. Their experiences in rally tracks would be considered by customers to look furthermore the models they offered. And with good event like Tokyo Auto Show, the name of Subaru cars would be more popular and some analysts said that this Japanese automaker is ready to fight against European and American muscles.
