Peugeot 208 XY Concept Headed to Geneva
We know that French automaker; Peugeot will not only bring one but two concept cars to Geneva Auto Show next month. The first is the Peugeot 208 GTi, which will replace the existing 207 and other is 208 XY. The Peugeot 208 GTi appears sportier and it will be joined at the Geneva Auto Show by a luxurious light and upmarket car concept from the French automobile manufacturer. While the 208 XY takes the the all-new 208 urban appeal to a new higher level.
Peugeot said that the 208 XY is designed to attract urban customers who love refinement and distinction. The French company also added that this concept acknowledges the shift towards exclusivity in the light, small car market segment.
The most interesting feature of the 208 XY concept that does not long to other cars is its “pulsion” paint. The paint is crimson at its core but it will change depends on position and distance from which people view it. More than 16 coats of lacquer and paint are applied to provide and support the effect. The theme extends to the interior, with a stitched leather armrests, dashboard, gear lever gaiter, steering wheel rings and stripes on the floor mats and seat inserts.
The French automaker said that the beauty of this concept is in its detail. It is also given a panoramic roof that allows maximum natural light to enter to the interior space. 18-inch alloy wheels help the exterior to appear sportier. It is combined with chrome headlights around the sunroof, front grille and window edges. Under its hood, a 1.6-liter e-HDi diesel engine is ready to supply 86 kW of power to the front wheels. The engine is supported by a 6-speed manual transmission. Unlike the 208 GTi, there was no explanation from Peugeot about the release date of the 208 XY.
