We know that used to be,Toyota had some sexy sports cars, such as the Celica, the MR2, the 2000GT and off course the Supra. But the global financial crisis, recall dilemma and the effort to be a No. 1 automaker – with absolutely each tenet of good business subordinated to the volume of sales – has seen all these exciting but low-volume models fall by the wayside.
Fortunately, there is good news for all Toyota lovers around the globe. We heard a rumor said that there are some important persons inside the Japanese company whohave strong intention to build and bring back all of these sports cars.The reports said that they thought thatbuilding sports cars is something that has to be done if wants to get more popularity. Finally, they alsoadmitted that sports cars are good business too. One of them who see such thing is Toyota’s CEO himself, Akio Toyoda, whom also known as a part-time racing driver and a sports car lover.
In the Toyota lineup, now we can find some civilized cars, which using minor patterns on sports cars such as the LF-A and the 86 – a new model that will be launched soon. However, Toyota is also in the process of building the FT-HS, a Toyota’s car that was first seen at the Detroit Auto Show 5 years ago but disappeared abruptly when the global financial crisis happened about 18 months later.
However, some rumors circulating around the automotive industry, especially in Japan said that one of the biggest automakers in the country is preparing to build the successor of legendary Toyota Supra.
