Los Angeles Auto Show Design Challenge – Pictures
With the growing concern of global warming issue and the need to create environment friendly vehicle, it’s no wonder that most car producers in the world are competing in making and developing hybrid or electric cars. The need for environment safe cars are growing each year, making the demand for it pressing tighter.
With the reason to address environmental issue, Los Angeles Auto Show has chosen a topic of environment safe for its Design Challenge competition. The main purpose is to create a car that is light and safe. It can’t exceed 1,000 lb. The car should also be comfortable, pleasing to the eye, and offers best features that every producer can offer. The reason for the light car is because the lighter a car is, the less fuel it needs. With the increasing price of fuel gas, the need to consume less fuel is growing stronger.
The design challenge itself has made producers be able to explore their creativity side as well as new ideas in finding suitable automotive design, in performance and appearance. There are nine remaining contestants to compete, such as General Motors, Honda, Maybach, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Smart, Toyota, and Volvo. Each of them is trying to present the best design they can think of.
