Land Cruiser celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2011
In its 60th anniversary in 2011, Toyota Land Cruiser is reputed as reliable and tough vehicle. There is a proven track record showing that Land Cruiser can perform very well even in the most difficult environments, such as jungles, deserts, and arctic wastes.
Six million units of Land Cruiser has already been sold since launched for the first time. The vehicle now can be obtained in more than 140 territories, and it is fabricated in nine plants in five countries.
In 2010, the sales of Land Cruiser and Land Cruiser V8 have been up 77 percent, and 120 percent over the same portion of time from 2009 respectively. This news has truly cheered Toyota, although some analysts comment that the rising of the sales is caused only by the factor of bad weather.
In the UK, Land Cruiser is offered in three trim levels, all of them use a diesel engine of 3.0-liter D-4D. While the Land Cruiser V8, Land Cruiser’s larger stable mate, uses the most powerful diesel engine from Toyota – a 4.5-liter D-4D which can provide 282bhp and torque of 650Nm.
Land Cruiser and Land Cruiser V8 have the capacity for seven passengers, and both are covered by a 5 year or 100,000 mile warranty from the manufacturer.
