Jaguar Heritage Museum Looking for a New Location

British carmaker, Jaguar has used its headquarters at Browns Lane, Coventry, UK for more than half of century. But, Browns Lane site is not only for headquarter because Jaguar also uses it for production and museum. There, Jaguar has Jaguar Heritage Museum that stores legendary cars and other items related to the brand. More than 150 cars stored and displayed there. Unfortunately, in 2007, Browns Lane site was bought by Australian developer. The British has no longer right to use it after that. Because of that matter also, the Jaguar Heritage Museum began to make new plan; they have to move to a new location.

Recently, Jaguar announced that the collections in the museum would move to new location in September this year. Unfortunately, there is bad news; Jaguar will relocate the collections and the museum non-publicly accessible location. The staff of the Jaguar Heritage Museum said that the collection in the museum would continue to be in circulation, whether on loan to other museums or on the Goodwood historical circuit. Jaguar has started to finalize the plan; now, they have only about 30 cars on-site.

If the new location could not be found, automotive enthusiasts will be unable to visit and watch Jaguar’s historical and legendary cars like Jaguar XK 120 NUB120 made in 1950, Jaguar SS Airline AWR 564 made in 1935 or Jaguar D-Type 393RW “Long Nose” made in 1956.

For most automotive enthusiasts, this is bad news because the site at Browns Lane has been known as one of the places where great cars were made. Each year, more than thousand visitors from all over the world visit the museum. They not only want to see great cars from the British automaker but they also want to learn the evolution of Jaguar’s technology.
