Honda CR-Z Mugen Concept (2011) Specs, Reviews and Video

CRZ-Mugen

The first pictures of the CR-Z Mugen have been unveiled officially by Honda. The car is still in an intensive process of development. However, development of the CR-Z Mugen has been already on track. And it is promising magnificent performance figures. In developing the car, Honda has teamed up with Mugen. Mugen takes role as Honda’s tuning partner.

In fact, the car is a high performance version of Mugen’s hybrid coupe. In some tests, prototype of the CR-Z Mugen can accelerate from zero to 60 mph with timing close to the Civic Type R. And the fuel consumption figures are also great.

Under “eco” mode, the car has a combined fuel consumption figure of 50+mpg.

While under special “Mugen” mode, the fuel consumption figure is mid-30 mpg.

The results of the tests have given great encouragement to Mugen. But Mugen has not been satisfied with the figures. An increase by more than 14 percent over the “first stage” power is expected. 50 kg reduction of the chassis is also expected to complete the overall performance of the 2011 Honda CR-Z Mugen. Mugen Euro’s representative, Colin Whittamore, indicates that the sales-ready form of the car will really give satisfaction for the buyers.
