Being just 30 centimetres longer than the Porsche 911, 2017 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350R offers customers a radically updated chasis as well as a typical aero package, providing more downforce compared to the regular vehicle.
Unlike the conventional Mustang driven by the V8 warbling motor, the new 2017 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350R uses a 5.2-litre high-revving flat-plane crank V8 powerplant. The new motor offers up to 8000rpm, unlike no more 6500rpm, provided by the predecessor.
The regular vehicle’s plush leather chairs have been replaced by heavily-bolstered Recaros, and the steering wheel boasts Alcantara. Direct and ultra-sharp – that’s what test drivers can say about the car’s steering. The big Brembo brakes don’t give any reasons to complain, while the wide Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires ensure outstanding traction and grip.
In the high-speed sections, including the intimidatingly fast Church corner, it’s pleasantly steady, mostly due to its aero package.
