Ford Tourneo Custom Concept
It has been heard that the eventual replacement for the esteemed Ford’s E-Series van is slated to be built in the U.S. using the next generation of the Ford Transit platform. Ford Transit is chosen because it has already grabbed success around the world. The North American automobile manufacturer will use the Geneva Auto Show next month to reveal the van. This will earn attention from automotive enthusiasts because they want to know how the performance of the E-Series replacement.
Actually, the Ford Tourneo Custom Concept looks funky; especially for the American customers but it will fit right in one the streets of Asia and Europe. Yes, this new Ford’s van will not enter the U.S. market even it looks more promising – the Tourneo will just coloring Asia and Europe. Kinetic Design language that has become the trademark of the North American automobile manufacturer can be seen easily on its front end.
The Ford Toruneo Custom Concept offers some solid specs for a van, including handling dynamics, 8-seat configuration for executive shuttle applications and personal use, driver-focused cockpit and Ford’s SYNC system. This concept even gives Ford’s driver assist systems, including SYNC-enabled emergency assistance, lane departure warning and rearview camera integrated into the mirror.
This van will be quite reliable because it is powered by a 2.2-liter Duratorq turbodiesel engine. It produces 153 horsepower. Such power is enough to help owners loading goods or people. The interior of the Tourneo concept is just like conventional cars we usually saw on the streets.
Many analysts believed that this car would get some good attentions from the automotive enthusiasts around the world when its production version launched to the market. However, U.S. customers also expected that Ford will bring to the country very soon, after the European and Asian market has been supplied.
