Ford EcoSport Makes Its Debut in 2012 Delhi Auto Show
On 6th January 2012 at the New Delhi Auto Show 2012, American automaker, Ford introduces its new compact SUV named EcoSport. The represent of Ford said that they are optimistic with the future of this vehicle and they committed this all-new SUV would be brought to more than 100 countries in the world.
The measurement of the Ford EcoSport is smaller than another SUV belongs to the American company, 2013 Escape. People who see it for the first would say that it is look like Nissan Juke. It can be predicted the reason why Ford launches this smaller SUV is because they want to improve capability on fuel efficiency. Ford seems want to make start to reach average fuel consumption by the year of 2015.
Under the Ford EcoSport hood, there is a 3-cylinder EcoBoost engine with 1000 cc of capacity. In India, there will be only three-cylinder engine but when it has entered the US market, Ford would provide 4-cylinder as optional. Ford gives chance to visitors to make simulation with computer screen to feel the small SUV. However, Ford still quiet; they do not want to specify the features belong to the car but from the engine and the name, this car is the first Ford’s eco-friendly SUV. EcoSport would be one of the seven cars from Ford that would be launched in India by the middle of this decade..
The Specs of the Ford EcoSport would be officially announced soon; maybe after the Delhi Auto Show 2012 is over. One thing we can tell is that customers in India could purchase this small SUV for 9 lakh Rupees. India is the first market for the EcoSport, the next would be South Africa, China, North America and then European market. Now, we just can wait until this American SUV coloring the street and try to compete with other small SUVs which offer fuel efficiency.
