Bridgestone will Introduce New Tire Printing Technology

Popular tire manufacturer, Bridgestone is in the development process of creating new tire construction method that does away with the conventional method, white rubber. The new tire printing technology developed by Bridgestone will instead print a new layer on its product from newly developed inks. Some media reported that the ink used today has never been used before, either by the company or other tire manufacturers in the world. The printing and the ink have two additional functions beside its decorative role, which are protecting the tire from losing its color and preventing damages to the surface.

This technology is also allowed customers to create or order their own photographs or custom pictures. With the technology they will able to decorate and show to other people, who is the owner of the car. Unfortunately, even we are exciting to have it but Bridgestone has not announced officially the date of arrival of the technology. Some media only reported that the tire printing technology will start entering the market in the near future.

There are some several benefits can be gotten by doing away the conventional white rubber. Whitewall needs a lot of white rubber that must be added to the weight of the tire. The new tire printing technology developed by Bridgestone, the company does away altogether with white rubber – it significantly reduces the weight and in the other hand provides a better performance. The tire will not only appears aesthetically and stylish but indirectly, it will also improve fuel economy.

This will be another breakthrough done by the Japanese tire manufacturer. People all around the world recognize Bridgestone as one of the best tire brands in the world. However, it not only touches personal vehicles because the Japanese company also supplies race teams and public transportation as well as airlines.

Futuristic Bertone Nuccio Concept

When auto enthusiasts hear the name Bertone, they will immediately connect the name with classical models and designs that are visible from such popular brands, such as the Ferrari 308, Lamborghini Muira, Lancia Stratos, Alfa Romeo GT Giulia, and Lamborghini Countach. Giuseppe Bertone passed away in 1997, but despite his death, the Nuccio – Bertone’s nick – design is still alive and expanding among auto designers and manufacturers.

The company is still creative and active in producing concept designs, including for the upcoming Nuccio concept that will be shown during Geneva Auto Show 2012. This concept is considered quite radical and extreme – despite the futuristic look – by auto enthusiasts. Somehow, it’s different from the regular classic design of Bertone’s characteristic.

This particular Bertone Nuccio concept is extreme and muscular. Honoring the former CEO of the company, the company says that this car incorporates aesthetic aspect with low height and wider stance for tough looking, futuristic ride. This design is also shown to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Bertone. Besides being shown in Geneva, the concept will later on be exhibited in Italy – Turin, to be exact – and also in China – in Beijing. There are no details about the car, but we can expect for more later on. Read the rest of this entry »

Fiat Cafes – Fiat’s Showroom in India

Fiat has entered Indian car market for a very long time. Unfortunately, the Italian car badge has failed to build a good impression on the minds of Indian automotive customers. But, do not ever think that the Italian brand produces bad cars. So many evidences showed that Fiat has ever produced one of the best-looking rides both in the sedan and in the hatchback segment in Indian automotive market. One thing made them failed in Indian market is that their lack of aggressive approach and promo for the market, whether it is in term of dealership expansion or product revision.

Up to today, Fiat is still using Tata brand showrooms to sell their products. This policy seems to be a weakness because it helps Tata badge to grow but not Fiat. But, recently, the Italian automaker has called off the agreement and they have made a big decision to open their own showrooms. The Fiat branded dealership will be called as Fiat Cafes. This will be not just an ordinary car showroom but more than that, it will also give customers a different experience that they have never been found before from a car showroom.

The Linea and the Punto are two products from Fiat that have coloring Indian streets for a long time. Those two cars are still keeping its old styling and it makes them hard to be a tough competitor for new cars in the same class like Volkswagen’s Vento, Hyundai’s Verna and Skoda’s Rapid. Along with the decision to open their own showroom, some media reported a rumor said that there would be some enhancements given to Fiat’s Linea. However, some images of the Fiat Linea facelift showed that the overall look of the car remains the same – it brings only minor changes in some sections.
