George H.W. Bush purchased Volt for Neil

Former president George H.W. Bush has bought a Chevrolet Volt for his son Neil. The Volt is given for Neil’s birthday gift. In a sense, the family of Bush should be among the first customers to buy one of General Motors’ plug-in hybrid cars, since $7.500 federal tax credit that the vehicle qualifies for was put into place during President Bush’s second term. Since President Barrack Obama has also promised to buy Chevrolet Volt when he gets out of office, that makes the plug-in hybrid car a vehicle that presidents from both major parties in the US can agree on.

F.A. Porsche passes away at age 76

In 1965, when Porsche 911 firstly introduced and released to the market, automotive analysts at the time claimed that it revolutionized what called as sports car, turning it from a crude performance machine to a performance machine with a great sophistication and higher class. The actor behind the legendary sports car surely was Ferdinand Alexander Porsche. The automotive industry should be sad because the brilliant man behind Porsche badge has passed away at the age 76. Unfortunately, the cause of the death has not been announced to the public.

We have to admit that Porsche 911 is one of just few cars that still look strikingly similar like its original model. Though some basic restyling and technology improvements are given but the car never loses its beauty and authenticity. Up to today, Porsche 911 still remains as one of the most popular luxury sports car in the world.

Ferdinand Alexander Porsche was born on December 11, 1935. Though not actually on the payroll, but quickly, he got into his family business when he was still a young boy. After finished his study in 1958, he returned to the company as an employee. He spent four years then took over the design studio of the company.

Porsche left the company in 1970s. The company was then controlled by other family members. F.A. Porsche wanted to focus on designing small items such as watches, eyeglasses and pens in his studio – Porsche Design Studio. For about three years, from 1990 to 1993, he returned to Porsche AG; this time, he became a chairman. His magical touches were expected guiding the company back to its success after a steep decline in sales in the 1980s.

Even his name only known for designing only one car, but it is enough to keep him as a legend in the automotive industry. For all parties that involve in the automotive industry, the spirit and ingenuity of Prof. Ferdinand Alexander Porsche will still live on for many years in the form of Porsche 911. Goodbye Professor!
