Are you exciting to have a car that hovers few feet above the ground while exploring the roads? Well, a giant automaker from Germany that is also well known with Beetle model, Volkswagen, is indeed working on such concept. The hover car concept dubbed as the Volkswagen Hover Car; it channels a mix of The Jetsons and Back to the Future and makes a lot of excitement in the segment of personal mobility. Chinese Division of the German based automaker has been running a big, future project called “People’s Car Project” for more than a year. The project that is held in China is giving chance to customers to give their views about what future car would be like based on their imaginations.
The German company has inspired 33 million website visitors and 119,000 ideas for possible products and technologies from so many various sources until the date and the Hover Car became one of the top three. Volkswagen Group’s Director of Marketing, Luca de Meo, said that his company is not just building conventional cars anymore, but collaborate with customers and at the same time initiating a national dialogue that gives them a deep insight into the design preferences, requirements and needs of customers in China.
The top three ideas that were selected by the German automaker were then developed as concepts and showcased at the Beijing Motor Show – the biggest auto expo in China. Volkswagen defines the Hover Car Concept as a two-seater city car with an all-electric heart that hovers few centimeters above the ground and travels along electromagnetic roadways. The company things that the current trend for car buyers is to choose safe cars that can easily navigate overcrowded locations and bring a personal, emotional and surly exciting design. They also said that the Volkswagen Hover Car is perfectly fulfilling those needs.
