Futuristic Small Car of Audi Urban concept

It seems that Audi with its Audi Urban concept tries to deliver nee futuristic feeling for the new ride. The company has allowed several sketches of the Audi Urban concept (2011) shown to the public. There were several spy shots of the camouflaged car previously. The new car is planned to launch at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show next September.

The Audi Urban concept shows the concept of e-tron car with electric model as the main attraction. The car is definitely not built for family car since it only has two seats with 1+1 arrangement. The design is intended for busy and crowded street and traffic. The whole concept is sporty with slide door, instead of regular open/close door. The main focus of this ride is on the weight reduction, efficiency, and also light construction. The idea of the car is to provide lightweight car with unnecessary weight additional, but still usable and also powerful. Since the car will be running on electric motor, it’s a fuel economy and environmentally safe car.

The New Concept of Audi A5 DTM

Before the Frankfurt Motor Show event, Audi has released several information about the new Audi A5 DTM concept. With code name R17, the A5 will be the replacement for the previous A4 DTM which is available with four door concept in 2004. Just FYI, the A4 has earned DTM title about 4 times since it was released.

I guess the company is hoping that the Audi A5 DTM will be greater and more superior than the previous product. Although there is not much information about the new car, but based on the Audi A5 DTM concept, it seems that the car will be running on V8 engine and will be made of carbon fiber monocoque. The carbon fiber design will be accompanied with roll steel cage that goes in accordance with the most current safety rules and regulations. The engine is adopting the technology from the A4, which is able to produce power of 340kx and 456ps.

The company doesn’t say much more about the car, but they mainly state that the production of the car will be similar to their new A5 Coupe 2012 product, which is about to go on sale this year – by the end of the year.
