Recently, Italian premium car automaker, Alfa Romeo has announced that they are preparing to introduce the production version of their 4C sports at the 2014 Detroit Motor Show. We know that the 2012 Detroit Auto Show is officially closed some weeks ago and the next edition of the auto show is still next year, the Italian badge is thinking to out of the box and some rumors and media said that the production version of the 4C sports will be presented officially to the auto enthusiasts in the United States at the 2014 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). The debut of the Alfa Romeo 4C sports will also become the return of the company to theUS automotive market.

The production version of the Italian sports car is expected by some analysts will come with exterior panels made from sheet-molded composites. Rumors said that the 4C sports car will be powered by a turbo engine. The capacity will be about 1.8-liter or 2.0-liter. If it uses the 1.8-liter, then it means the power will be the same as the Giulietta model because the existing product also uses the same engine capacity and model. The power produced by Giulietta model is about 230 horsepower. With such engine, the acceleration of the 4C will be less then 4.5 seconds from stand start to 60 mph.

When it is launched to theU.S.market in 2014, the price of the Alfa Romeo 4C sports will be about $ 45.000. Some rumors said that Alfa Romeo is planning to produce 18.000 units at the first year to see if it has enough attention from theU.S.market. The return of the Alfa Romeo to theU.S.market will be considered by some premium automakers, especially because its capability in producing great exclusive vehicles. However, this will be good news for auto enthusiasts in the country because they finally get chance to have Italian badge in their garage after some years absent.

Alfa Romeo has been introduced earlier before during the Geneva Auto Show. And then again, the company has shown off their new production in Frankfurt Motor Show. Fiat, as the main company controlling the production and sales, states that they’re working on their new model of Alfa Romeo 4C, which will be available in two seat arrangements.

The new model is about to enter production since the company has planned to launch this new ride in Spring 2012. However, it’s still possible that the company will introduce the car in several Auto Shows before they finally decide to launch this vehicle, although there hasn’t been any official confirmation about this. The Alfa Romeo 4C price is set around €54,000 or $70,000. The company doesn’t want to go extravagant about this production, so they tend to keep this one as a low profile design.

Based on the previous look where this ride has been shown off, the overall look and performance of this car is quite promising. The frame structure is made of carbon and also aluminum. It’s likely that the ride will be available with 230 hp with total weight of 900 kg. It’s also said that the ride will be able to reach 62 mph within 4.5 seconds only.
