Fined by the court £175 for flashing

Fined by the court £175 for flashingIn the UK, a stubborn driver had been prosecuted because of his action – flashing lights to other drivers as a warn signal.

The incident was actually happened last year, on July 2010. And the driver is a 64 year old man from Grimsby. His name is Mr. Michael Thompson.

Mr. Thompson had warned other drivers of a hidden speed trap by flashing his lights to oncoming cars. Finally, his action was known and stopped by the police.

To BBC news, Mr. Thompson said that he had no idea why the police stopped his action and pulled him over. He considered his action was absolutely correct and legal according to the law.

Mr. Thompson argued that at times speed traps can cause cars to brake harshly. It is therefore he felt necessary to flash lights to other drivers as a warn signal. And he stood by his action.

Unfortunately, Mr. Thompson’s decision to stand by his action had brought consequence. Although he had already delivered his defenses, but the court still considered him guilty. The court was not impressed at all with his arguments. In fact, his action is illegal according to the law.

Finally, Mr. Thompson was fined by the court £175, with £250 costs.

How to handle car taxes and save more money

How to handle car taxes and save more moneyDrivers often worry about car taxes and the increase of fuel price.

An industry body, SMMT (Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders), gives some ways to handle the problem. Following them will enable drivers to save more money.

The ways may sound so simple yet they are true and applicable, especially for those who live in Britain and some other European countries. The ways are: 1) buying only new cars, 2) choosing the cleanest technologies, and 3) taking advantage from the government incentives for low emission vehicles.

New cars can save more fuel, this also means that the drivers can save more money. On average, new cars also perform better and emit 20% less CO2 than cars produced before 2001.

And in Britain, people can take advantage from the program of “Plug-In Car Grant”. Those who buy electric cars that emit CO2 of 75g/km or less can get the fund of up to £5,000 from the program. In some locations, electric cars are even exempted from parking charge.

Particularly in London, all cars that fulfill the air quality standard of Euro 5, or emitting CO2 of 100g/km or less will get a 100% discount given by London Congestion Charge. And now, it is not only electric cars that can take advantage from the regulation, but all cars can have right for the 100% discount as long as they are available with more than nine seats.

Chief Executive of SMMT, Paul Everitt, said that cars with new diesel and petrol engines are great, but the electric cars are the most magnificent.

Car sex – is it good or bad?

Car sex – is it good or bad?Having sex in a car is weird, and we can’t imagine that some people love to do this.

Autoquake.com, an online car retailer, has surveyed 1,000 correspondents in Britain concerning about this issue of car sex. As the result, 32% think that sex in a car is an overrated idea. But surprisingly, there is 22% saying car sex is wonderful experience.

The correspondents are also classified into genders. 31% of women state car sex as a wrong activity, and 11% of men agree with that. However, 18% of women think car sex is extremely wonderful, and 28% of men have the same opinion.

There is also classification of ages. 11% of over 55s say car sex is a bad thing. 39% of them think car sex is wonderful. And it is rather gladden to find that only 13% of 18-24 year olds have enjoyed car sex.

For some of us, the result of the survey is still too bad to be true. Dermot Halpin, the CEO of Autoquake, is even surprised by the reality that many drivers have had sex in their cars.

Ethically, people can have sexual relationship only with their spouse, and the place must be appropriate like in bedroom.
