2017 Nissan MG ZS SUV unveiled at the Shanghai motor show

The 2017 Nissan MG ZS compact SUV has been disclosed at the Shanghai motor show, providing us with another glimpse at the British-bound model’s interior and design.

Set to fit into the MG line-up beneath the currently existing GS, the styling of the upcoming Nissan Juke counterpart greatly differs from the GS, getting the Anglo-Chinese car maker’s fresh Jaguar-like grille as well as Mazda-like headlights.

The brand new 2017 Nissan MG ZS SUV has been specially styled by SAIC Design. That’s a division of Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation, MG’s parent company.

The new design language provides the new MG with a more upmarket appearance, compared with the GS. In this case a greater attention is paid to detailing as well as surface forms than we’ve observed in recent MG models.

On sale in Great Britain in 2018, the new compact MG SUV acquires the ZS name. By the way, some car experts state that the Z in the model’s name stands for ‘Generation Z’. that’s the young market which the company is actually aiming for with the car. Matthew Cheyne, MG’s head of sales and marketing, told that this name wouldn’t be carried over to Great Britain.

At the Shanghai motor show in 2012 authentic plans for the second MG SUV model were announced, disclosing the retro-inspired MG Icon concept.
