McLaren has suddenly disclosed its revolutionary fresh 570S Spider.
The 2017 McLaren 570S Spider makes use of a two-part electrically operated folding roof mechanism, resembling the one fitted to the 650S as well as 675LT Spiders. It takes the lid 15 seconds to close or open and it can be operated when the vehicle’s moving at 25mph.
The vehicle’s roof folds beneath a tonneau cover. It definitely features the vehicle’s most radical design change compared with the coupé variant: a pair of buttresses, supporting a retractable wind deflector.
The 2017 McLaren 570S Spider also features a rear spoiler, sitting 12mm higher than the coupé’s just to withstand the lift created by the Spider’s different roof design. The car maker claims the new Spider boasts the same aerodynamic performance as the coupé. Apparently, the rest of the 570S Spider’s striking design has much common with the coupé, including the dihedral doors.
