2013 GMC Acadia Makes Its Debut at Chicago Auto Show

The 2012 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit has just over but it is never too late to talk the next major American auto show, the Chicago Auto Show 2012. American SUV specialist, GMC, has confirmed that their new 2013 GMC Acadia will make its debut at the Chicago Auto Show next month, giving its truck division something new to get excited.

For the most parts when General Motors made their first three-row crossover debut in late 2006, they were made and revolutionary changed the market. But now we are in 2012; this is a new era when a refresh is desperately needed on many models they have in order to match with other automakers. It appears that the GMC Acadia will lead the next generation of crossover from General Motors.

The GMC Acadia shares Lambda front-drive, Chevrolet’s Traverse, Saturn Outlook and Buick Enclave’s three-row crossover platform. General Motors still keep the specifications of the Acadia, at least until it is brought to the Chicago Auto Show 2012 next month. But some speculations believed that the crossover will incorporate an updated version of the Lambda platform and could see GM’s V6 engine 3.6 liter under the hood. If this speculation comes true, it means this three-row crossover will able to produce at least 315 horsepower.

About the price, General Motors also still keep it as secret. There are no details we can reveal because the information about this car is still limited. But, we can tell you that this GMC Acadia will enter production soon after the Chicago Auto Show. Some rumors said that with this Acadia, GM wants to show off its existence in the crossover market. The American automaker wants to get its name back after some automakers had able to take the heart of SUV customers in US with their crossovers.
