Another report coming from German automaker, BMW. 2013 BMW X1 sDrive 28i and 35i Mpg – City or Highway

BMW guesstimates that the rear-wheel-drive X1 sDrive 28i will be able to offer a 24/33/27 (city/highway/combined) mpg rating, which means that it is in the same level with the 27 combined mpg offered by current mileage champ of the BMW, which is the stick-shifted 328i 2012 version. X1 all-wheel-drive models are also expected to be thrifty, with the X1 xDrive 35i and X1 xDrive 28i estimated at18/27/21 and 22/30/25 mpg, respectively.

To reach that mileage target, BMW puts 4-cylinder engine with 240 horsepower under the 28i models and an inline-6 3.0-liter with 300 horsepower for the 35i models. Both engines are direct injected and turbocharged and will be mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
BMW will also apply the same trim level (Line) strategy thatfirst seen on the new 3-Series for the X1 with two new options, which are xLine and SportLine. The xLineis given undertray elements for the rear and front fascia, side-skirt covers, matte-finished kidney-grille slats, air intake and Y spoke alloy wheels 18-inch. The interior is completed with a leather-wrapped multifunction sport steering wheel and copper-colored trim. Buyers can also ask for Nevada leather upholstery and matte-wood trim if they want.

The SportLineis equipped with high-gloss black air intake and kidney grille slats, black-chrome tailpipe finishers and double spoke alloy wheels 18-inch in addition to the xLine’sundertray and side-skirt elements. The cabin looks sportier because there are sport seats, leather-trimmed sport steering wheel and gearshift lever with red stitching and high-gloss black interior trim with optional accents from aluminum.
