2012 Ford Focus ST Revealed
Some months ago, American automaker, Ford, caught by some media made some tests for their new Focus generation, which is 2012 Ford Focus ST on the Nurburgring. Testing the vehicle on cold weather showed that the American automaker is trying to fine tune its best selling hatchback. From the spy shots that are posted in some automotive media, there are no significant changes on this popular American hatch. And finally, this next-generation Focus has been brought to Paris motor show couple months ago. From the 2012 Ford Focus ST concept we found that this hatch appears sportier and elegant than the RS or other Focus models.
Under the 2012 Ford Focus ST, there is a more powerful engine. Ford tells that the engine brought by theFocus ST would be the most powerful among others, which is EcoBoost Turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 2.0 liter of capacity. This engine type has ability to product up to 250 horsepower that would be delivered to the front wheels. The power from the engine would be delivered through a six-speed manual transmission, even thee is a chance that Ford would also put its PowerShift dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Once again, there would be no significant changes in this 2012 Ford Focus ST, including on its mechanical sector. But, there was a rumor said that Ford would use RevoKnuckle suspension at front, similar like what they have done on the RS. Some reports said that the American automaker would release the car in the end of 2011 in US and touches worldwide market in 2012. It is interesting to see the details after this car tested. The MSRP of the ST starts from $16.500 to $22.700. Ford is trying to offer 36 mpg up to 37 mpg with this hatchback, which means that it is not to different with the Focus RS.
