Well, it’s not really a surprising news since the hybrid car has really cool and superb technology, combining electric power and gasoline engine as the back-up. The electric power is able to make the car run for about 40 miles before the battery pack runs out and replaced by four cylinder engine, which prolong the trip up to 300 miles.

With the winning of Chevy Volt as the Car of the Year 2011, it’s able to beat its two biggest competitors: Leaf from Nissan and Sonata from Hyundai. Meanwhile, Ford Explorer won the Truck of the Year award, beating its two biggest competitors: the Durango from Dodge and Grand Cherokee from Jeep.

Both of these awards were compiled by Deloitte, a national accounting firm in America, and presented by a panel of jury consisting of 49 automotive journalists.
