1968 Steve McQueen Mustang

For some reasons, Ford now has started producing a limited amount of 1968 Mustangs.

Rumor says that the pony car is intended as a homage to a 1968 Steve McQueen film – “Bullitt”. However, Gateway Classic Mustang has not reaffirmed the rumor.

1968 Ford body is used to built the modern Mustang. The car will be generated by a Roush small block engine that can offer 450 horsepower.

Like the movie car, the modern Mustang has Highland Green finish. And the interior is equipped with its original features, but added with black components.

The atmosphere is completed by the original style seat belts and a carpeted fold down rear seat.

Gateway Classic Mustang (GCM) co-owner, Jason Childress, says that the modern Mustang’s design is in fact specially based on movie car from a classic film – “Bullitt”.

In the “Bullitt”, the car was driven by Steve McQueen who played as a reliable cop.

Some units of the modern Mustang will even be featured with McQueen’s specs and signature.

GCM does not specifically describe the Mustang as a homage to Steve McQueen, however McQueen has inevitably given strong appeal for the car.
